ROP warns beachgoers of dangers during Khareef

SALALAH: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has issued a warning to beachgoers in Dhofar Governorate during the Khareef Dhofar season.

The ROP is urging tourists and locals alike to exercise extreme caution and avoid venturing into the sea or approaching the rocky edges adjacent to the beach due to the perilous high sea waves that pose a significant threat to safety.

It has taken several steps to ensure the safety of beachgoers, including broadcasting educational segments on radio and television programmes, leveraging social media platforms to spread warning messages, distributing informative pamphlets, and placing indicative panels in prominent locations.

It has also strategically positioned eye-catching billboards along the streets and is using social media platforms to maximise outreach.

The ROP's primary objective is to prevent any untoward incidents that could mar the tranquillity of tourists during the Khareef Dhofar season. As such, the ROP strongly advises beachgoers to heed its guidance and exercise utmost caution.

By doing so, visitors can enjoy their vacation and bask in the delightful autumn weather while ensuring their personal well-being and security.
