"Participation in G20 meetings will help share expertise and experiences'

 
Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman on Wednesday underlined the importance of its participation in the G20 forum meetings in which the country will be taking part for the first time.

The media meeting said the G20 meetings are aimed at enhancing dialogue among the largest industrialized countries with economies that support global growth.

Pankaj Khimji, the advisor to the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion (MOCIIP), said, 'Since its inception, the G20 has a practice of inviting some countries as participating guests to enhance the geographical balance to include all regions around the world.

He said that the Republic of India has extended a special invitation to the Sultanate of Oman to participate in the G20 meetings at its 18th session in 2023, which represents an important opportunity for the Sultanate to attend the intergovernmental forum of the most important economies around the world.

The participation of the Sultanate of Oman in these meetings is important to enrich the different areas of knowledge by exchanging expertise and experiences with the participating countries and working to highlight its efforts in the group to enhance partnership with the international community, and discuss the most important common issues such as trade and investment, and facilitating international trade.

The Sultanate of Oman is holding several preparatory and coordination meetings between government institutions, within the framework of preparations for their participation in the G20 meetings and to prepare an action plan and follow up on the outcomes of the meetings held.
