MoE, OPAL looks at strengthening partnership

MUSCAT: Dr Madeeha bint Ahmed al Shaibaniyah, Minister of Education, on Sunday met with Dr Amer bin Awad al Rawas, Chairman of Board of Directors of Oman Energy Association (OPAL), and Eng Abdulrahman bin Humaid al Yahyai, CEO of the OPAL. The meeting comes with the aim of discussing ways to strengthen the partnership between the Ministry of Education (MoE) and OPAL in the field of vocational and technical education in the post-basic education stage, considering that OPAL is the strategic partner in applying some engineering and industrial specialisations starting from the academic year 2024/2025 in a number of schools in the governorates of Muscat and Al Batinah North.

The ministry also intends to establish other similar partnerships with various economic sectors in the Sultanate of Oman during the coming years within the framework of the gradual expansion of the application of vocational and technical education in the rest of the governorates.

It is worth noting that the ministry is continuing to take executive measures to implement vocational and technical education in the fields of business administration and information technology, starting from the next academic year 2023/2024.
