Higher Education Ministry’s Board of Vocational Colleges holds meeting

 
Muscat: The Board of Vocational Colleges at the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation on Sunday discussed the progress made in a plan to develop the vocational training system, its projects and its foundation programme.

The meeting was chaired by Dr Khalid Abdulaziz Ambusaidi, Director General of Vocational Training. It looked into the outcome of a workshop on mechanical, electrical and electronics engineering programmes. It studied ways of how best to follow up the visions and challenges facing vocational colleges and find adequate solutions.

As many as 3,072 students received admission to vocational colleges during the academic year (2022/2023). They took up different specializations such as maintenance of electronic devices, automotive technology, operating mechanics, architectural drawing, electricity generation, marine navigation techniques, engine mechanics, wastewater treatment, aquaculture and business studies like marketing, and interior design.
