HM visit to Iran: A joint statement released

Muscat- The Sultanate of Oman and the Islamic Republic of Iran have issued a joint statement on the occasion of the visit of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to the Islamic Republic of Iran and his session of talks with President Dr. Ebrahim Raisi, President.

Proceeding from the long-standing and close relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the Islamic Republic of Iran and their two friendly peoples, and emphasizing the mutual respect between the leaders of the two countries and the strong bilateral relations based on the foundations of good neighborliness, brotherhood, and religious and cultural ties, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik paid an official visit to The Islamic Republic of Iran from May 28-29, 2023 in response to the invitation of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Dr. Ebrahim Raisi.
During this visit, the leaders of the two countries discussed bilateral relations and ways to develop them based on common interests, especially in the areas of trade, energy, investment, and culture, in a way that is mutually beneficial and enhances the relations and interests of the two friendly peoples.
The two sides expressed their satisfaction with the high level of bilateral relations, pointing to their increasing growth, especially after the recent visit of the Iranian President, which took place at the invitation of His Majesty the Sultan last year.
The two sides expressed their keenness to expand relations in the future, their support for joint committees and work teams, and the exchange of visits in various fields to follow up on the development of relations.
The two sides also emphasized the effective role of the private sector in the two countries to expand the horizons of economic cooperation and expressed their satisfaction with the continuous growth of trade exchange and the increase in joint investments in light of these relations. between the two countries and work to enter into any new agreements that serve their common orientations and interests.
Within the framework of ways to strengthen relations between the two brotherly countries and lay the foundations for preserving their continuity, the leaderships of the two countries directed their governments to work towards reaching and signing a strategic cooperation document between the two countries in various fields that enhance joint cooperation and mutual benefits.
His Majesty the Sultan and President of the Islamic Republic of Iran exchanged their views on a number of regional and international issues of common concern, and stressed the importance of continuing efforts and good offices in the various security, political, economic, and cultural fields to consolidate the foundations of peace and stability in the region, and welcomed the continuation of talks and political consultations between the two countries.
