Oman hosts women affairs meet

MUSCAT: The Sultanate of Oman on Tuesday hosted the 1st meeting of the GCC Standing Committee for Women Affairs.
The meeting discussed the status of women in GCC countries and the decision of the Ministerial Council in its 154th session on joint GCC action in the field of women’s affairs.
On the sidelines of the meeting, Dr Laila bint Ahmed al Najar, Minister of Social Development, met with Jassim bin Mohammed al Budaiwi, Secretary-General of the GCC.
During this meeting, the two sides reviewed means of enhancing the role of gulf women and their active participation in the joint GCC action. — ONA
