TEHRAN: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministries of Culture, Sports and Youth, Information, Awqaf and Religious Affairs, is actively participating in the 34th Tehran International Book Fair, which commenced on May 10.
With the fair hosting approximately 3,000 publishing houses from both within and outside of Iran, the event serves as a platform for the Omani delegation to showcase the nation’s vibrant culture, rich heritage, intellectual contributions, and literary and historical aspects.
The participation aims to strengthen intellectual and literary cooperation between Oman and Iran, foster cultural exchange in the realms of writing and publishing, and provide a global stage for Omani authors.
The Omani pavilion at the fair boasts an extensive collection of publications spanning various disciplines, including intellectual, linguistic, jurisprudential, literary, artistic, and scientific fields.
Under the theme ‘We Read for the Future,’ the 2023 Tehran International Book Fair features the participation of approximately 2,700 local publishers, over 100 foreign publishers, and 200 institutions specialising in printing, translation, and publishing. Additionally, a virtual book fair is being held alongside the physical event, enabling book enthusiasts to make online purchases around the clock.
The international section of the fair proudly presents a remarkable display of approximately 45,000 book titles across diverse fields of knowledge, academics, and children’s literature.
