Housing ministry signs 6 usufruct agreements worth more than RO 32 m

 
Muscat: The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning (MoHUP),on Thursday, has signed six usufruct agreements for agricultural sector projects in the governorates of North Al Batinah, South Al Batinah, Al Buraimi and Al Dakhiliyah, with a total investment value of more than RO 32 million.

The investment projects will be set in the wilayats of Barka, Buraimi, Suhar, Al Jabl Al Akhadar and Al Suwaiq.

The agreements involve a number of projects, including the construction of a bee honey museum over an area of 3 acres with an investment value of more than RO 1 million in the wilayat of Barka, bananas production and marketing project over an area of more that 66 acres, an organic farming project for the production of pomegranates on an area of 30 acres, fig cultivation and production project, soil booster project and the implant of 50,000 palm trees project.



Meanwhile, this move comes in response to the demand of the sultanate of Oman of food security projects, which are envisioned to be implemented over an area exceeding three million square metres.
