FM reviews security and humanitarian situation in Sudan

MUSCAT: Sayyid Badr Hamad al Busaidy, Foreign Minister held a phone conversation with Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the Arab League during which they reviewed the security and humanitarian situation in the brotherly Republic of the Sudan and the keenness of the regional countries to ease tensions and back efforts that would help Sudan to restore security and stability and settle the dispute through dialogue and peaceful means.
The foreign minister also held a telephone conversation with his Djiboutian counterpart Mahamoud Ali Youssouf. They underscored the importance of the joint Arab and African role to convince the warring parties in Sudan to resort to dialogue and to consider the higher interests and sovereignty of the Sudanese people. — ONA
