OCT Ruwi bag All Omani T20 title

MUSCAT Oman: OCT Ruwi claim the title for the All Omani T20 Tournament held at the Oman Cricket Academy from 25th March 2023 - 11th April 2023.
The tournament was played in a round-robin format between 8 All Omani teams competing for the coveted annual trophy during the hold month of Ramadhan.
OCT Ruwi led by Waseem al Balushi were champions of the tournament remaining unbeaten throughout the games while OCT Maabela led by Asif al Balushi claim runners up to the tournament winning 5 out of 6 games, losing only to the champions in the league stage.
Delighted on defending the championship, Waseem al Balushi, Captain of OCT Ruwi said, “We have always believed in ourselves and that I think is our team’s strength. We have claimed Runners Up for the A Division and came with a lot of confidence behind our back. I am proud of the way we played throughout the tournament. I laud all the teams for composing such teams that have kept the tournament competing as ever and challenging at all stages. We would also thank Oman Cricket and it’s board for organising such a fantastic extravaganza for the development of youth and ethnicity into the sport of Cricket. We aspire to have more locals taking up Cricket and to represent Oman at the highest level in the sport.”
Paul Sheridan , Vice-Chairman – Oman Cricket along with Younis Sakhi, Board Advisor – Oman Cricket were present at the closing ceremony of the tournament and handed the individual accolades and the title positions to the teams.
Zubair bin Ali bin Akbar al Balushi bagged the Best Batsman scoring 243 runs at an SR of 143 and a staggering avg of 121.5. Haythim Bahar Ali claimed the Best Bowler picking 14 wickets at an Economy of 5.12 and a SR of 10.3.
Zubair bin Ali bin Akbar al Balushi also was adjudged the Player of the Tournament exhibiting his batting array scoring 243 runs and displaying superb bowling picking 12 wickets.
