Did you notice Venus hiding behind the Moon?

Muscat: On Friday, Venus seemed to be hiding behind the Moon, evident up in the skies anywhere in the world, including the Sultanate.

Venus is one of the brightest planets in the Solar System and is also the closest to Planet Earth.

As Venus and Moon aligned in the same line, the former looked slowly disappearing behind the dark edges of the Moon, its brightness was dimmed by 250 times, according to reports.

On March 28, Five planets Jupiter, Mercury, Venus, Uranus, and Mars will align together on March 28, creating a rare spectacle in the sky.

All these planets are set to align between March 25 – March 30 as Earth will enter the equinox but the sighting of this rare conjunction in the sky will be clear on March 28 as five crossways and come in one line.

on Thursday, NASA’s official Twitter account also tweeted, "Look westward to find the Moon as a beautiful, slim crescent this evening after sunset, hanging just below blazing-bright Venus. Tomorrow evening, look west again to spot the moon once more, this time shining from above Venus."
