Road crash kills at least 19

At least 19 people were killed and scores more wounded after a passenger bus fell into a ditch in the central Bangladeshi district of Madaripur, police and rescuers said on Sunday.
The accident occurred in the morning when the bus carrying more than40 passengers smashed through a highway fence and fell into the ditch near Shibchar of Madaripur district, leaving 14 people dead on the spot, local police chief Masud Alam said.
The accident site is about 70 kilometres south of the capital Dhaka. A burst tyre or speeding might have caused the accident.
