Oman hosts forum on Pharmacovigilance

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Health, on Wednesday hosted the 2nd Oman Forum on Pharmacovigilance and the meeting of Arab pharmacovigilance officials.
The two-day event is organized by the Department of Pharmacovigilance and Drug Information at the Directorate General of Pharmaceutical Affairs and Drug Control.
The forum aims to exchange regional experiences and review developments in the field of pharmacovigilance and medication safety.
The forum covers a spectrum of topics, namely discussing the developments of Arab pharmacovigilance guidelines and the mechanism of regional cooperation in the field of pharmacovigilance in Arab countries, among other topics.
Moreover, the forum was participated by experts of pharmacovigilance from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Iraq, Bahrain, Egypt, Lebanon, Yemen and Jordan, in addition to speakers and experts from pharmaceutical companies.
