Oman TV hosts Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs

Muscat: Oman TV hosted on Tuesday His Excellency Dr Mohammed Bin Said Bin Khalfan al Mamari, Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs in a live TV show “ With Youth.
During the televised meeting, the minister said the national record of awqaf is a national heritage treasure, giving emphasis on the importance of utilising endowments and reviewing new investment opportunities with zero-risk attempts.
“There is no notable infringement on the endowments’ funds in a society that knows its details and limitations”, he stated.
During the meeting, the minister said the Zakat funds distributed nationwide stood at a value of nearly RO 14 million last year, from which more than 130,000 people have availed.
“The Sultanate of Oman has a total of 13,935 masjids, while the number of mosques is 1,770.
His Excellency stressed that the Ministry is currently working on updating the Endowment Law, and there is a project to fully govern it.
