Bank Muscat participates in 27th Muscat International Book Fair

MUSCAT: Bank Muscat, the leading financial services provider in the Sultanate of Oman, has announced its strong support for the 27th edition of the Muscat International Book Fair, which is being held at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre until March 4, 2023. This year’s festival which was inaugurated under the patronage of HH Sayyid Hamoud Faisal al Busaidi, Minister of Interior, is witnessing an excellent turnout of visitors with the overall number slated to touch as many as 300,000 visitors over the course of the 11-day long fair. Aimed at enriching Omani culture through a number of events, lectures, literary and cultural seminars, the 27th edition will host an elite selection of intellectuals, publishers, and exhibitors, thereby contributing prominently to Muscat’s cultural scene. Over the years, the fair has picked up a dedicated following amongst people in Oman and is also well covered by both local and international media.
Bank Muscat’s participation at the book fair comes as part of its strategy to highlight the Sultanate of Oman’s cultural achievements and introduce prominent and upcoming Omani and Arab works and publications across various fields to a wider audience.
In particular, the fair has a number of cultural halls like Ahmed Bin Majid Gallery, Al-Farahidi Gallery, Ibn Dureid Gallery and Al-Awtabi Gallery, which is seeing an excellent response from visitors. It is a matter of pride that this year’s fair features well in excess of half a million titles and publications, including as many as 22,950 Omani publications.
The fair also includes a Children’s Corner where an area has been allocated for family activities, a theatre, reading corners and cultural workshops.
