Oman chairs 6th meeting of GCC Chemicals, Waste Management Committee

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Environment Authority, chaired the 6th meeting of the GCC Chemicals and Waste Management Committee at the Advisory Board of the GCC Supreme Council in Muscat today.
The meeting discussed several topics namely the environmental directives of the GCC countries 2020 for the requirements of the current environmental situation, the strategic plan of the Committee of Ministers Responsible for Environmental Affairs, including the integrated management of waste and chemicals, and the guideline for the sound management of chemicals and waste resulting from the corona pandemic.
The meeting discussed unifying the position in the meetings of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee (INC) regarding the establishment of an international legally binding instrument on plastic pollution.
