HM gives audience to WTO Director-General

 
MUSCAT: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik on Tuesday gave an audience at Al Barakah Palace to Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO).

At the outset of the audience, His Majesty the Sultan welcomed the guest. His Majesty valued WTO's efforts to streamline global trade and ensure its stability. His Majesty also lauded its remarkable role to overcome challenges facing the global economy.

On her turn, the WTO Director-General expressed the organisations’ pride about its distinguished relations with the Sultanate of Oman. She commended the open trade and investment policies espoused by Oman under the wise leadership of His Majesty the Sultan.

The audience was attended by Dr Hamad bin Said al Aufi, Head of the Private Office, Qais bin Mohammed al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, and Ambassador Eloy Lauro, Senior Adviser to the WTO Director-General. - ONA
