Council of Oman takes part in PUIC meetings

Muscat: The 17th Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States (PUIC), was held in Algiers, People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, on January 26-30.
The Sultanate of Oman’s delegation was headed by Khalid bin Hilal al Maawali, Chairman of Majlis Ash’shura. The delegation comprised members of the Council of Oman.
The Sultanate of Oman presided over the meeting of the Gulf group which reviewed the formation of the PUIC standing committees and the executive committee. The Council of Oman continued as a member of the executive committee.
The Arab group held a coordination meeting under the chairmanship of the speaker of the Council of Representatives of Iraq. The meeting discussed the distribution of the vacant seats in the standing committees, the Executive Committee and Palestine Committee.
