MUSCAT: Indian expatriate Ramachandran Nair, living in Muscat for more than three decades, recently won two awards at the 9th Media City Film-Television and Media Awards 2022, held in Kerala's capital Thiruvananthapuram.

Nair was recognised as Best Script Writer for his short film, 'My Little Brother', while his musical album 'Karnikaram' was adjudged Best Concept.

The song ‘Karnikaram’ is presented in the melodious voice of K S Chithra, the renowned Indian playback singer.

Although there are many songs about Kerala, the song ‘Karnikaram’ reminds everyone, particularly music lovers, of the state's affection, natural beauty, tradition and abundance.

'My Little Brother' highlights the issue of adoption. It dwells on the issue of loneliness and revolves around a girl who loses her parents quite early in life and is taken care of by her grandfather.

The Media City Film-Television and Media Awards night was held on December 21, 2022, and was attended by renowned film, media and political personalities.
