Al Rustaq, Seeb, Al Suwaiq, Oman Club post crucial wins

 
Muscat: The second-leg of 2022-23 Omantel League began on Tuesday night after a 40 days stop due to the national team’s participation in the Arabian Gulf Cup in Iraq’s Basra.

The week-14 featured Seeb’s triumph over Al Bashayer 2-1 while Al Rustaq registered a crucial 1-0 win against Bahla. Oman Club edged Al Ittihad 2-1 while Al Suwaiq managed to end their fixture against Al Oruba on a 1-0 winning note with a goal by Issam al Subhi.

This week games will conclude with two matches that will take place on Thursday as Al Musannah will host Sur in Al Rustaq Sports Complex while Al Nasr will face Suhar in the Al Saada Sports Complex in Salalah.

Seeb’s Mohsin al Ghassani led his team as he registered the opening goal in their match against Al Bashayer in Nizwa Sports Complex.

Al Ghassani was the star of the match as he netted the second goal in the 58th minute while Al Bashayer’s Deop scored their consolation goal in the dying minutes. The win took the Muscat-based team to fifth place with 22 points while Al Bashayer are in 12th position with eight points.

Al HASANI LIFTS OMAN CLUB

Mahmood al Hasani netted the most important goal for Oman Club to assist his team in delivering a crucial 2-1 win against Al Ittihad.

Al Hasani’s goal in the dying minutes gave Oman Club their fifth triumph in the league and to reach 21 points in the eighth place while Al Ittihad are placed in the bottom in 13th position with seven points only. Mahmood scored the first goal for Oman Club as well while Muthanna al Shujaibi struck the only goal for Al Ittihad.

Al Rustaq’s Linja Bersi scored the only goal in the Al Rustaq-Bahla match that took place in Al Rustaq Sports Complex. The goal came in the 67th minute of the match. The victory raised Southern Batinah team’s credit to 28 points in second place behind toppers Al Nahda while Bahla remained in seventh place with 21 points.
