Oman, UAE review cooperation

MUSCAT: Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidy, Foreign Minister, received Dr Thani Ahmed al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The two sides reviewed aspects of bilateral cooperation in business, investment and economic diversification fields. They also affirmed the keenness of both countries’ leaderships to advance mutual relations in various spheres.
The meeting was attended by Dr Saleh bin Said Masan, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion for Commerce and Industry and several officials from both sides.
Meanwhile, Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) also received the UAE business delegation.
The meeting explored means of developing trade and economic relations, as well as enhancing the trade exchange between the two countries.
Businessmen and businesswomen were briefed on investment opportunities in the two countries.
The meeting also touched on mechanisms of diversifying and enhancing joint interests between the two sides. Emphasis was laid on investment sector in commensurate with markets in both countries.
The meeting also highlighted mechanisms of exploiting joint investment opportunities. It also urged businessmen to set up joint ventures between the two sides.
The Omani imports from UAE hit more than RO 2.957 billion till the end of August 2022 whereas the Omani exports to the UAE stood at more than RO 890.9 million.
