A Norwegian cargo vessel has run aground in the Suez Canal and authorities are attempting to refloat the ship, shipowner Leth said on Monday.
'M/V Glory grounded while joining a Southbound convoy near Alaqantarah. Suez Canal Authority tugs are currently trying to refloat the vessel', the company wrote on Twitter.
Suez Canal traffic is unaffected by the grounding of the M/V Glory vessel, Suez Canal Authority (SCA) Chairman Osama Rabie told Al-Arabiya on Monday. The ship had run aground and efforts to refloat it are continuing, Rabie said.
