Omani writers, winners to be honoured today

MUSCAT: The Omani Society for Writers and Literati (OSWL) will honour award winners for literary and cultural activity at its 13th session, under the auspices of Shaikh Abdulmalik bin Abdullah al Khalili, Chairman of the State Council.
The celebrations will be held at their headquarters in Airport Heights today.
During the award ceremony, the association will announce the winning publications, awards for cultural creativity for the best literary publications, which was announced in September 2022 in six fields namely short story, novel, popular poetry, literary studies, intellectual books, and honouring those with cultural achievements.
The award will be divided into two types, the first being the Cultural Achievement Award, in which cultural personalities and projects that had a role and presence in the cultural scene will be honoured.
For the second award, will be for the best publications which will be awarded to the winners in the six fields and is subject to evaluation by arbitration committees other than the first, which is awarded by a decision of the board of directors of the association.
The ‘Written Achiever Personality’ award is granted to writers who have published productions and publications in the field of culture, literature and science. — ONA
