MIIC acquires leading contracting company

 
MUSCAT: Musandam International Investment Company (MIIC) signed a purchase agreement for the ‘Sultanate Investment Services’ company, which operates in the construction contracting sector classified primarily in the Tender Board. The company has implemented projects worth more than RO 15 million and other projects and tenders are currently under implementation.

This agreement comes within the framework of building the capacities and potentials of Musandam Global Investment Company, which is the largest local community company in Musandam Governorate, a closed joint stock company based in Musandam and the only private company for all the governorate’s states.

The agreement is part of a group of agreements scheduled to be concluded during the first quarter of this year, which will enable Musandam Global Investment Company to achieve its plans to be a locomotive for the local economy in the Governorate of Musandam, an investment vessel for the people of the governorate, a catalyst for foreign investment, and an incubator for SMEs.

The company seeks to apply best practices and policies in governance, sustainability, social responsibility, scientific research and innovation.

The signing of the agreement was attended by Sayyid Ibrahim bin Said al Busaidy, Governor of Musandam, and Faisal bin Abdullah al Rawas, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The number of shareholders in the company is about 1,885 shareholders from the people of Musandam Governorate, and the company was established recently under the supervision of the Office of the Governor of Musandam.
