Traditional markets ready for winter tourism

 
Many tourist attractions, traditional markets, castles, forts and archaeological sites in the various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman are witnessing an active tourist movement by foreign tourists. winter tourism begins in October until the end of April every year. A number of tourists from different nationalities, including European, American and Asian, stressed on the unique status of the Sultanate of Oman and its importance, noting that the castles, forts, popular markets and Omani customs have a different character from the rest of the neighbouring countries.

Muhannad Abd Rabbo from the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan said “This is my first visit to the Sultanate of Oman. I visited many sites in the Governorate of Muscat. I was fascinated by the combination of ancient and modern architecture. I was also drawn by the beauty of Muttrah Souq which was developed and preserved in a beautiful traditional way, it tells the heritage of an ancient and contemporary country. it has a different character that merges the present and the past. the Omani heritage, ornaments, and perfumes that are manufactured using local Omani methods caught his attention the most. He stressed that the Omani perfume, incense, and frankincense industry that spreads throughout the market have a special status in the country.



Kevin from the United States of America said “This is my second visit to the Sultanate of Oman, and what made me visit it again is the tranquility and safety that I touched in the previous visit. the Omani hospitality has a great role in attracting the attention of tourists from different countries of the world. “My previous visit was in 2017 to Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, where I visited Al Jabal Al Akhdhar with its cold weather in the winter season. I felt the difference there when I saw the antiquities, old houses and methods of architecture.

During which, Kevin said that he got the chance to monitor the lifestyle of people, their source of income and their huge dependence in agriculture. He even helped in irrigation. He also visited Misfat Al Abriyeen in the Wilayat of al Hamra, where he was drawn to the beautiful scenery and the mud buildings that are distinguished by a different engineering system.



Conley, a German national, confirmed that this beautiful country deserves to be visited many times. respect and good treatment always make the visitors feel safe and reassured and encourage them to return to visit the Sultanate of Oman several times. She pointed out that among the things that encourage tourists to visit the Sultanate of Oman are the components, the ancient tourism and heritage diversity, and the beautiful popular markets in the various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman, which are unique to the rest of the neighbouring countries.

Sai Bavan from India indicated that Oman is a beautiful and hospitable country. “I have visited many places in the Sultanate of Oman as castles, forts. my visit to Nizwa market, the ancient and traditional design of the place attracted me greatly. the market has shops that were built in a beautiful way and they are run by locals who deal and talk in a respectful manner. these stores offer many products, especially local ones such as traditional daggers and swords, and Omani sweets that have a special flavour.

I also visited the Sharqiya Sands, and tere I met with a large number of tourists due to the presence of tourist camps that tell about Bedouin life, and the tourist adventures in the desert have a beautiful and distinctive character, which attracts many tourists to these beautiful golden sands.
