Study to set up national award for tech innovation

MUSCAT: The State Council office on Monday held its first meeting of the fourth annual sitting for 7th term under the chairmanship of Shaikh Abdulmalik bin Abdullah al Khalili, Chairman of the State Council.
The meeting discussed a study on establishing a national award for technological innovation in governorates themed 'Towards Smart Cities'.
The move aims to encourage governorates to incorporate modern technology in various aspects of life. It also targets motivating individuals, companies and startups in the technological innovations field and to transport those innovations into products and services.
The study highlights the most prominent projects that contribute to achieving sustainable national development and realising the goals of Oman Vision 2040.
The meeting also touched on the report of the expanded economic committee on the State Budget for the financial year 2023. -- ONA
