Muscat gets heavy to moderate rains

 
Muscat: Various parts of the Muscat Governorate received heavy to moderate rains on Sunday, leading to water logging in some areas.

According to Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), rains will continue in the coastal areas of the Sea of Oman and parts of the governorates of North and South al Sharqiyah, al Dakhiliyah, and South Al Batinah.

ROP has warned motorists to be careful on slippery roads and maintain a safe distance between two vehicles to avoid collisions.

on Saturday, the CAA said there are chances of rains of varying intensity, including thunderstorms ranging from 10 to 40 millimeters in the coming hours till Sunday morning.

For Monday, CAA said that the parts of Musandam Governorate, the Sea of ​​Oman in particular (Muscat and South Al Sharqiyah), South al Batinah, and areas around Al Hajar mountains will receive rain.

It also warned of rising dust in the desert and open areas, which may lead to a decrease in horizontal visibility.

Temperatures are also expected to drop in most governorates of the Sultanate.









Night temperatures in Muscat are likely to drop to 20 degrees Celsius, Suhar 19 degrees Celsius, Saiq 8 degrees Celsius,

“A drop in minimum temperatures is expected due to the northwest winds in the Sultanate of Oman. The minimum temperatures on mountains tops are likely to drop to below 10 degrees Celsius with chances of frost formation in the evening/dawn,” the CAA said.
