Liwa Model Residential City’s inauguration tomorrow

 
Liwa: As part of celebrations marking Oman’s 52nd National Day, HH Sayyid Belarab bin Haitham al Said will tomorrow (Monday) preside over a ceremony marking the opening of Liwa Model Residential City, which covers an area of 12 million sqm.



The city, set up in the vicinity of Al Batinah Expressway, has been designed to accommodate 30,000 residents. It boasts a broad range of services and facilities, including 1,300 housing units and around 3,400 single and double residential units. The city is also designed to cater to 50,000 residents and visitors in the future.



Carried out by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning, the city constitutes a comprehensive model for sustainable cities. Its configuration is based on interactive participation among government departments concerned, firms and public service providers. It witnessed direct participation from society in all its stages of planning and design.
