WONCA Family Medicine Congress kicks off at Muscat

Muscat: The 7th East Mediterranean Region Family Medicine Congress 2022 of the World Organization of Family Doctors (WONCA), kicked off here on Thursday.
The Sultanate of Oman is hosting this important three-day medical congress for the first time. The congress is organized by Oman Family Medicine Society and Sultan Qaboos University (SQU).
The ceremony was held under the auspices of HH Sayyid Dr Fahd Al Julanda al Said, Vice Chancellor of SQU.
The WONCA East Mediterranean Region Family Medicine Congress 2022 is participated by 300 family doctors and physicians of other specialties.
The congress covered a range of topics, such as the role of family medicine during the Covid-19 pandemic, latest developments in treating diabetes, blood pressure and obesity and challenges facing family medicine, among other topics.
