Nizwa lights up for National Day

NIZWA: The landmarks, avenues, buildings and homes in the Wilayat of Nizwa are decked up with national colours and lights, as the Sultanate of Oman is getting ready to welcome the 52nd National Day.

Oman celebrates the National Day on November 18 to mark the birthday of the late Sultan Qaboos bin Said. On this day, Omanis and residents fondly recall the contributions the late Sultan made to transform Oman into a modern and prosperous country.

His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik in 2020 decided to continue the tradition to honour the noble son and great leader of Oman who ushered in the modern renaissance.

The Wilayat of Nizwa completed National Day decorations that spread joy and happiness in the hearts of Omanis and residents. Nizwa Central Market is also decorated with pictures of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and late Sultan Qaboos bin Said along with lights in national colours.

Traders have also decorated their premises with flags and lights much to the delight of visitors. The shops are stocked with clothes, flags, wall decorations and lamps that reflect patriotic enthusiasm of the citizens.
