Agreement to equip science lab at Al Amal School for the Deaf

Muscat: The Ministry of Education signed a cooperation agreement with the OQ Group to equip the science laboratory at Al Amal School for the Deaf, in the Ministry’s General Diwan. The agreement was signed by Dr Abdullah bin Khamis Ambosaidi, Under-Secretary for Education, and Najlaa bint Zuhair al Jamali, CEO of Alternative Energy and Head of the Social Investment Committee at OQ Group, on Wednesday. Dr Thuraiya bint Hamad al Rashidi, Director-General of the Directorate-General of Special Education and Continuing Learning in the ministry, and Muna al Jabri, from Foreign Affairs and Societal Investment at OQ Group, were present.
The Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Education for Education expressed his gratitude to the OQ Group for its promotion of the education sector by its continuous support for its programmes and initiatives aimed at enabling the educational process and contributing to the establishment of scientific facilities that contribute to refining the skills of students with disabilities.
He also noted that this agreement will contribute to supplementing the theoretical aspects that students learn in the school scientific curricula by aligning it with the applied aspects to reach their maximum potential in their educational path, and in a manner that opens wide scientific horizons for them to benefit from scientific experiences and practical applications.
The CEO of Alternative Energy and Chairman of the Social Investment Committee said: “The signing of this agreement with the Ministry of Education stems from the social responsibility that the OQ Group embodied in supporting educational programmes as part of the community partnership that it pursues within the framework of its social role in society, and we look forward to this agreement contributing in developing the abilities of students with disabilities and providing them with the skills that qualify them to master the theoretical aspects of the school curricula.”
