Kuwait crown prince reappoints Shaikh Ahmad as PM

 
Kuwait's crown prince reappointed Shaikh Ahmad Nawaf al Sabah, the ruling Emir's son, as prime minister and later approved a new Cabinet following legislative polls in the Gulf state.

A decree announcing the government formation in the OPEC oil producer named Hussein Ismail as oil minister to replace Mohammed al Fares. Finance Minister Abdul Wahab al Rasheed and Foreign Minister Shaikh Ahmad Nasser al Sabah kept their posts.

Kuwait held early elections on September 29 in which opposition members made big gains, after Crown Prince Shaikh Meshal Al Ahmad al Sabah dissolved parliament in a bid to end the standoff between government and the elected assembly. -- Reuters
