The national representative will chase for clinching the maiden historic title and to be the first Omani club crowning as champion of the AFC Cup. It is the similar case as the Malaysian opponent will be aiming to lift the coveted trophy for the first time in history and recall the memories when Malaysian side Johor Darul Ta'zim won the AFC Cup in 2015.

Seeb head coach Rasheed Jaber voiced confidence that the team in fully ready for the final game. “The team’s preparation went smoothly for the final clash and our target is to bag the prestigious title. In any final match, there is no nominated team to win as both sides have chances to register the triumph. The team with better focus during the whole match will get the preference to win in the encounter,” he added in his statement during the press conference ahead of the match.

The former national team coach commented on using Video Assistant Referee (VAR) system in the concluding match, he said:” VAR is a perfect system to be executed in any game. However, we preferred if it was implemented during the previous rounds including the group stage.”

The Video Assistant Referee system will be implemented in today’s tough fixture as the second match in AFC’s history following its debut in the 2021 edition in the final between Bahrain’s Muharraq Club and Uzbekistan’s FC Nasaf.

Coach Rasheed added that the team has good chance to end the match on positive result. “We hope our players will be in right shape and focus to snatch all the scoring attempts,” he concluded.

Two times champions of top-tier league and four times winners of HM Cup featured strong squad which is mix of experienced players and young faces. Eid al Farsi, Mohsin al Ghassani, Mohammed al Musalami and Ahmed al Siyabi are some of the key players in Seeb who assisted the team in the previous rounds to reach into the final step of the AFC Cup.

Seeb’s professional star Daniel Ajbola said that Seeb head coach has a clear tactic plan and the players will execute the coach’s plan and instructions. “Implementing the right technical plan in the match will ease our roles as players to register the win in today’s game. Playing an away game and in presence of opponents fans are not excuses for us and will work hard to lift the title,” he said during the press conference.

Seeb’s Ghanaian forward Cosmos Dauda affirmed to AFC website that crowning as champions of AFC Cup would be a game changer not just for Al Seeb SC but for the entirety of Omani football.

“This is a very important game in the club’s history and for the players,” said Dauda. “We have worked so hard one step at a time to get to this point of the competition. Every player knows what it means to be here. The pressure is always there, but we have to take the positives in every situation.

'It is important that we stay positive, focused and maintain mental discipline. I believe it will be a challenging 90 minutes and we have to fight until the end. We know how important it is for us as players and for the country as a whole.'
