Oman sees a big jump in GCC hotel quests

Muscat - The revenues of three to five-star hotels increased by 106.9 percent to RO108,334,000 until the end of August 2022, compared to the same period in 2021.
The number of hotel guests in 3-5 stars increased by 34.2 percent until the end of August 2022 compared to the same period in 2021, while the occupancy rate recorded a growth of 22.4 percent until the end of last August to reach 42.5 percent, compared to 34.7 percent during the period in 2021.
The number of hotel guests from the GCC recorded a significant growth of 1250.9 percent from 7,874 at the end of August 2021 to 106,371 guests by the end of August 2022, followed by the number of European guests, which grew by 615.9 percent from 26,400 at the end of August 2021.
The number of Omani guests decreased by 14.9 percent from 556,035 at the end of August 2021 to 473,232 until the end of August 2022.
The number of American guests until the end of August 2022 was about 35,803, an increase of 201.5 percent compared to the same period in 2021, followed by those from the African continent (5,198), which grew at the rate of 101.9 percent compared to the same period in 2021.
The number of Asian guests increased by 40.2 percent from 91,273 until the end of August 2021 to 127,995 during the same period this year.
