11th edition of IGCF kicks off with the theme Challenges and Solutions

 
The 11th edition of International Government Communication Forum (IGCF) kicked of at Expo Centre Sharjah on Wednesday and will continue till Thursday, September 29.

The forum was held under the auspice of HH Shaikh Sultan bin Ahmed al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, Chairman of Sharjah Media Council, and in presence of a number of their Highnesses, officials and media representatives.

The two-day forum, organised by the International Government Communication Centre (IGCC), discusses a number of topics most of which are the challenges that face government communication sector.

As many as 160 senior public officials, thought leaders and government communication experts took part in the forum.

Held under the theme ‘Challenges and Solutions’, the forum discussed the innovative solutions to overcome challenges posed to the sector by present and future trends.

HH Shaikh Sultan bin Ahmed al Qasimi, in a speech delivered during the opening, said, 'The Emirate of Sharjah has been able, through strengthening the role of the family, developing institutions for childhood and youth, and building a media apparatus that provides useful and useful, to deal with a range of challenges arising from openness, the spread of extraneous values, and rapid technological advancement. This led to some behaviours and morals infiltrating society that are contrary to our principles.'

HH praised the Emirate of Sharjah for its distinguished and successful experience in providing solutions to challenges, saying, 'Today, Sharjah has become a city that is friendly to children, young people, and people with disabilities, as well as the first Arab city that is sensitive to the elderly.'

As His Highness remarked, 'Sharjah believes that communication is the difference between stability and turmoil, between disagreement and agreement, between security and confusion, and between what we are today and what we aim to become.'

In his speech, HH Shaikh Sultan bin Ahmed al Qasimi explained that challenges will continue to exist, and the most important thing is to find solutions. 'The challenges of all kinds have not stopped, and each era and time has its own challenges,' he said.
