IRONMAN 70.3 triathlon begins in Salalah

The city of Salalah is hosting the IRONMAN 70.3 triathlon competition with the participation of more than 700 athletes from September 22-24.
This tournament, which is the largest event witnessed by the Sultanate in 2022, is organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism and the Dhofar Municipality and hosted by Hawana Salalah Resort.
A special opening ceremony for this event was held under the patronage of Salem bin Mohammed Al Mahrouqi, Minister of Heritage and Tourism on Thursday.
This three-day tournament, organized by Triathlon Middle East, also includes many exciting events and activities in which all participants will participate.
The competition kicked off with the opening of the Hawana Salalah Showroom, Food Village, and Merchandise Store that will operate from 10 am until evening.
The highlights of the second day were the IRONKIDS children's race (starts at 3:30 pm), and the IRON GIRLS race.
On the third and final day on September 24, the Ironman 70.3 Salalah Race will start at 6:30 am, where athletes will participate in races of 70.3 miles (113 km) that will include a swimming tour, then a cycling tour, and finally, a running round that will conclude the race.
