Hayya card holders can bring 3 non-ticketed fans: Qatar

Hayya card holders will be able to invite up to three non-ticketed fans to Qatar, the World Cup Organising Committee has revealed.

'A fan holding the Hayya Card can invite up to three non-ticketed fans to attend World Cup festivities in Qatar,' Yasir al Jamal, Director-General, Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, said.

A minimal entry fee will be charged for non-ticketed fans aged 12 and over, with the feature set to be launched in alignment with the Last-Minute Ticket Sales period. There will be no entry fee for non-ticketed fans aged under 12, he said.

Fans snapped over 500,000 tickets during the most recent sales phase in July and August. The next sales period will begin around the end of September, while over-the-counter sales will start in Qatar soon. With Muscat as one of the major and approved cities to receive the World Cup fans, the details were unveiled in a press conference held on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the visitors holding the Hayya card can apply for Oman's visa online or on arrival at land or airports. A Fifa village (Fan Zone) will be established at Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre (OCEC), with details to be revealed soon. World Cup fans can enter the Sultanate of Oman (Hayya card holders) with a free multiple-entry visa (valid for up to 60 days). The Hayya card holder can avail of this facility for family members and will be allowed to change the visa to another category during the stay in the Sultanate of Oman in accordance with certain conditions.

Oman Airports said there would be dedicated departure and arrival gates, baggage conveyors, check-in counters fans, and a customer service team in place to guide passengers through custom routes. Arrangements have also been made for fans to and from the airport via special bus stops for buses.

The Sultanate of Oman will have over 20,000 hotel rooms and over 200 tourist products via more than 35 local operators and ten land transport companies. The OCEC, covering an area of more than 9,000 sqm, will provide a festive atmosphere for the World Cup 2020 fans with a variety of activities and events.
