SQU new academic year begins on Sept 11

Muscat: Sultan Qaboos University received the 37th batch of students for the academic year 2022-2023, which begins on September 11. The new batch numbering 3,000 students is distributed among various colleges.

The number of undergraduate studies programmes reaches 61, and the primary education specialisation (first field, second field) was launched for the first time for this academic year.

The university organised an induction meeting for the students of the 37th batch in the hall of the University Cultural Center on Sunday, with the aim of introducing the services provided by the various academic, social, psychological and health centres and units, in addition to introducing cultural and sports activities.

The preparatory programme exams will be held on Monday, and will continue until September 5.



Another meeting on September 6 will introduce students to the programmes, specialisations and services offered by the affiliated colleges.

Prof Dr Salem bin Hamoud al Harthy, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Community Service, said: 'The induction meeting for the 37th batch of students for the academic year 2022/2023 is an opportunity to know about the services that the university provides to students in all disciplines and fields.'

In a statement to the Oman News Agency, he added that there are many services that can be availed by the students during their study, stressing that Sultan Qaboos University looks forward to making these students future leaders.

He said students must enroll in a foundation programme before taking courses. — ONA
