Efforts going on to restore basic services in rain-hit areas

Muscat: As part of ongoing efforts, competent authorities in the Sultanate of Oman have embarked on restoration work of essential services in the rain-hit areas.

The basic services sector announced the power service has been fully restored in the Governorate of South Al Batinah, while waste management has been 95 per cent restored, water and drainage services by 99 per cent, and nearly 17 telecom stations have been restored out of a total of 29 stations impacted by the latest weather condition. Meanwhile, efforts are going on to restore other 12 stations.



As the rains abated in those areas, the authorities concerned have also carried out some restoration works of other main services, including roads.

The basic services sector said that 95 per cent of asphalt roads are open in the impacted zones in the Governorate of South Al Batinah, 98 per cent in North Al Batinah, and 99 per cent in Musandam.
