Rains affect over 100 houses in Rustaq

 
Muscat: The Secretary-General of the Ministry of Finance visited the rain-affected areas in South al Batinah on Wednesday and reviewed damages caused by the torrential rains.



Initial assessments indicated that about 100 homes were affected in the Wilayat of Rustaq in the South Al Batinah Governorate.

He said, "There are some interruptions in electricity and water and we expect the electricity services to return this afternoon. Water service has been restored in some areas and some of the affected roads have been opened for traffic."



Dr. Ali bin Amer Al Shethani, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Transport said the ministry has examined the roads affected by heavy rains in South al Batinah and the priority has been accorded to finding alternative roads, to get traffic back to normal at the earliest."
