Al Adwani led Olympic Values Coaches Programme in Qatar

Olympic certified lecturer Hisham al Adwani will deliver the Olympic Values Training Course which will be under organisation of Qatar Olympic Academy from Tuesday until Thursday in Doha. The course targets club coaches, teachers and those interested in the Olympic sports movement. The course program will be presented by Hisham al Adwani as the main lecturer for the course, and will be assisted by Mohammed Omar, Qatar’s Al Khor Club coach and Hasna Abu Haqab from the Qatar Olympic Academy.

The course’s themes will feature dealing with the Olympic movement, the Olympic values education programme, modern strategies for teaching Olympic values, getting to know the three main Olympic values which are friendship, respect and excellence. Moreover, the course will identify the principles of the Olympic movement and their relationship to Olympic values in terms of concept, meaning and purpose.

The training course will highlight the Olympic values and their role in making the Olympic champion, and ways to introduce Olympic values into the curriculum of the physical education lesson according to the different academic levels,

For a period of two days, Al Adwani will address the practical aspect of activities and exercises that instil Olympic values among athletes, as well as presenting examples of applications of knowledge activities to spread Olympic values and principles to students in the physical education and training session.

Oman’s certified Olympic lecturer will also present a set of initiatives for some countries such as France, Turkey, Estonia and others on spreading Olympic education. The Olympic Values is one of the programmes supported by the International Olympic Committee.
