Steam Oman, School Sports Association get a fillip

Muscat: The Ministry of Education has signed two agreements with OQ Group, the first one to boost Oman School Sport Association and the second to sponsor Steam Oman initiative in its quest to teach science, technology, engineering and Maths in an innovative manner.

The first agreement provides a year-long support for Oman School Sports Association with a view to enhancing sports activities in schools by necessary requirements for schools in different governorates so that they could accommodate sports as part of extra-curricula educational activities aimed to hone the skills of 250,000 target students.

The second agreement also lends a year-long sponsorship of the activities of OQ’s Steam Oman initiative aimed at bolstering school studies in a manner that encourages students to explore and innovate in the fields of science, technology, engineering and Maths. The service benefits about 300 students.

The agreements were signed on behalf of the Ministry by Education Undersecretary Dr Abdullah Khamis Ambousaidi, while Ashraf Hamad al Abri, CEO of Human Resources, Technology and Work Culture at OQ signed the agreements on behalf of the group.
