MUSCAT, JULY 2

Majan Electricity Company, a member of Nama Group, began implementing Guaranteed Standard of Services with effect from July 1, 2022 — in line with standards prescribed by the Authority for Public Services Regulation (APSR) for licensed distribution and supply companies.

The standard, first announced by APSR on June 26, 2022, includes a list of 10 items aimed at increasing customer satisfaction with the electricity services and assisting the electricity distribution companies in improving the quality of their services.

The standard covers several aspects including meter reading, customer complaints, new electricity connections and unplanned outage notifications. APSR also confirmed customers’ entitlement to compensation if electricity companies do not comply with the required level of service.

Commenting on the announcement, Ibrahim al Farsi, Senior Director of Customer Affairs at Majan Electricity Company, said implementation of the new standard at Majan Electricity Company and other distribution and supplying companies will help increase customer satisfaction with the services that they receive, protect the rights affirmed by APSR and raise people's awareness about their rights and responsibilities with regards to public services.

Majan Electricity Company has already been implementing these standards through the customer charter, which measures the level of customer satisfaction. The company’s performance is continuously being evaluated to monitor the extent of compliance with the charter standards.
