No signs of tropical storm formation over Arabian Sea: Met

Muscat: There are no indications of the formation of a tropical condition in the Arabian Sea, said Meteorology Office on Monday.

"There are no indications of the formation of a tropical condition in the Arabian Sea and what is currently monitored is the activity of regular seasonal clouds with the flow of scattered clouds over the Sultanate’s airspace", the Weather Office said.

However, rains and active winds would continue over Al Hajar mountains and adjoining areas on Monday.

"There are chances of thunderstorms of varying intensity, accompanied by active winds and hail falling on parts of North Al Sharqiyah Governorate, with the continued flow of clouds from the Arabian Sea to the governorates of North and South Al Sharqiyah, parts of Ad Dakhiliyah, Muscat and Al Wusta," Met said in a statement.

The latest satellite images show the presence of seasonal clouds activity in the middle of the Arabian Sea. Expectations indicate the chances of the extension and flow of high and medium clouds sporadically during the next three days over the Sultanate, with chances of scattered rain over the Dhofar Governorate.
