MUSCAT: The Ministry of Education, represented by the Directorate-General of Educational Supervision, organised a meeting for 45 of the first supervisors in the Applied Sciences Department on Wednesday. The meeting was held in the presence of Dr Mutasim al Balushi, Assistant Director-General of the Directorate-General of Educational Supervision, Dr Khadija al Balushi, Assistant Director of the Applied Science Supervision Department. The meeting took place in Khasab Hall at the Ministry's Headquarters.

In her welcome speech, Dr Khadija al Balushi, Assistant Director of the Applied Science Supervision Department, said: “This scientific meeting brings together the elite in the Department of Applied Sciences supervision units, and such a meeting offers great scientific benefits and exchange of experiences. This meeting includes two main aspects, namely: the virtual aspect which represents development, empowerment and the exchange of ideas, and the internal aspect which is represented by appreciation and pride in what has been achieved.”

Dr Al Balushi stressed the importance of holding such scientific meetings, saying: “These meetings will overcome many of the challenges that face the supervision units in the Department of Applied Science through reviewing the reality of the work of these units, the challenges, and difficulties they faced, and giving free rein to all their employees to provide more achievements and development in the next stages. This is done by presenting each unit of its achievements during the current academic year 2021-2022, and its developmental visions of renewal and innovation in supervisory work in the coming stages for the benefit to prevail among all units, and the exchange of experiences among employees.”

Proposing a vote of thanks, Dr Mutasim al Balushi, Assistant Director-General of the Directorate-General of Educational Supervision at the Ministry, said: “It’s an honour to be present in this scientific meeting, and to stand on their achievement in order to benefit and exchange experiences, ideas and opinions in the supervisory work. There is no doubt that the process of change and development is a basic requirement, whether it is at the level of the personal or institutional component, and it is also a desire that comes from within the person, or the institution, when analysing the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and achievements that exist as well as analysing the internal and external factors in general.”
