Omantel's mobile app wins two Gold Stevie Awards 2022

MUSCAT: The winning streak continues for Omantel at global platforms as its service delivery approach integrated with innovation convenience makes daily lives and business operations better.
Oman’s first and leading integrated telecom service provider in the Sultanate has proudly bagged gold in two categories at the Middle East and North Africa Stevie Awards 2022 held recently.
Omantel was named Gold Stevie Winner in the Innovation in Business Utility App and Innovative Use of Technology in Customer Service categories.
The awards, sponsored by the RAK Chamber of Commerce & Industry, received over 700 nominations from organizations across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) this year in close to 12 categories. Winners will be facilitated at a gala in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE.
The double victory for Omantel came for its innovative and groundbreaking mobile app, which combines international best practices in online customer service, its fully online onboarding process, exceptional customer experience, Noor, the app’s Artificial Intelligence digital assistant, and round-the-clock customer service helpline.
The idea of relaunching Omantel App with a simplified online onboarding process emerged shortly before the launch of eSIM in the Sultanate of Oman. Omantel was the first telecommunications provider in Oman to offer its customers the option to order and activate an eSIM online.
Ammar al Lawati, Senior Manager of Digital Channels at Omantel, said, “The comprehensive digital experience has become an integral part of the customer’s satisfaction and retention. Thanks to the new features of Omantel App, customers can efficiently meet most of their needs online from their smartphone or tablets throughout the customer journey.” Omantel App informs customers about new offers and packages. It also provides a simple and convenient feature wherein users can buy Omantel partner products such as Apple iTunes, Sony PlayStation, and Microsoft, in addition to 10 other products. The App contains approximately 20 value services added in the entertainment section, which users can easily activate. Omantel has recently introduced purchasing of car insurance as a listed service as well.
