MUSCAT: Cheltenham Muscat School at Al Bandar, Muscat hosted competitive school sport by kicking off two indoor rugby tournaments after a gap due to the pandemic. The Grades 7 and 8 Touch Rugby tournament saw Cheltenham’s Sports Hall come to life, with over 40 pupils from schools and nationalities all over Muscat participating with Grades 5 and 6 Tag rugby tournament involving 70 children.

Coach Berry, Sport Coordinator, Cheltenham Muscat, said: “Playing a sport for my school (Cheltenham College, UK) and rugby club was hugely important for me growing up, it was where I met so many of my closest friends. The social opportunities these tournaments generate are invaluable, especially after all the online learning that happened."

"It was amazing to see the children interacting in a competitive, yet social environment. Thanks to Tim Barlow and Nabs al Busaidy from Muscat Rugby for all of their support with the two tournaments, as well as all the pupils and staff from schools in Muscat who made the tournaments a great success.”

Cheltenham Muscat is a British International School offering a dual British and Arabic curriculum (IGCSE and A-Level) from KG1 to Grade 9. The school opened in September 2021. Admissions are open for children to start in August 2022.
