Curtains on forum activities of Nizwa Club's Al Somoud team

The activities held in connection with the 7th Ramadhan Forum of Al Sumoud team of the Nizwa Club have concluded at the Creativity Centre for Culture and Innovation in Nizwa.

The forum had continued throughout the holy month with many events that varied from religious to cultural, artistic and social aspects. It also included a series of lectures, competitions, workshops, and sporting events.

The valedictory function was held under the auspices of Eng Hamad bin Said al Rabkhi, head of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate. The ceremony began with verses from the Holy Quran recited by Mohammad bin Hamad al Kindi.

Abdullah bin Suleiman al Shukaili, a member of the Al Somoud team organising committee, delivered the keynote address. "The team has been organising Ramadhan forums for several years. The 7th edition of the forum has facilitated interaction among the participants with cultural, religious, sports, scientific, intellectual and health programmes. This year's forum included 18 activities ranging from religious to cultural lectures, presented after Friday prayers. The cultural competition and the exploration of talents included the Creative Voices competition and elocution contest," he said.

There were sporting events, including table tennis, night mountain walks, and volleyball. A chess competition was also organised. There were workshops on film direction, artificial intelligence, and the Internet of Things. A blood donation campaign in cooperation with the blood bank at Nizwa Hospital was also organised, he added.

"Through this forum, we were keen to achieve several goals, including instilling social, cultural, religious values and sportsman spirit in children and youth, encouraging them to nurture positive habits and behaviour.

Ahmed bin Masoud al Rashidi presented a visual presentation of the activities and events organised by the forum.

Eng Hamad bin Said al Rabkhi honoured the forum's sponsors, the leaders of workshops and the winners of competitions among others.
