Severe sandstorms not predicted for Oman: Met

Muscat: The Sultanate may not witness sandstorms and low visibility issues as reported in other countries of the region such as Iraq, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia.

Speaking to the Observer, an official at Oman Meteorology indicated that horizontal visibility may reduce due to dust aerosols and fog formation along the Arabian Sea coast and the western coast of Musandam.

However, there are sandstorm warnings for Marmul and other open areas.

There are chances of clear skies over most of the governorates with a possibility of late night to early morning low-level clouds or fog patches over parts of South al Sharqiyah and Al Wusta governorates.

Temperatures are expected to be between 40 degrees and 44 degrees Celsius in most parts of the governorate, including in the capital Muscat and Nizwa.
