Visa-free travel to EU for Omanis discussed

Diplomatic Affairs Undersecretary Receives Head of Visa Policy Unit in European Commission
MUSCAT: Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali al Harthy, the Foreign Ministry’s Under-Secretary for Diplomatic Affairs, received Dimitri Giotakos, Head of the Visa Policy Unit in the Directorate General of Migration and Home Affairs at the European Commission and his accompanying delegation on Monday.
The two sides reviewed relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the European Union (EU) and explored ways of strengthening them.
During the meeting, the delegation underscored the significance the European Commission attaches to the topic of exempting Omani citizens from the Schengen visa.
The meeting was attended by Khalid bin Sulaiman BaOmar, Head of the European Union Department at the Foreign Ministry and several officials from authorities concerned in Oman. -- ONA
